About Dyadfit

Is Dyadfit only for people on GLP-1 medication?

No. It's for anyone losing weight who wants to keep their muscle. It's tuned for the low appetite that often comes with GLP-1 medications, but the protein ranges and strength plans work however you're losing weight.

What does Dyadfit actually do?

Three things: it gives you a daily protein range sized to your body and how fast you're losing, plans 2 to 3 short strength sessions a week, and runs a weekly check that tells you whether you're keeping muscle or putting it at risk.

I've never lifted weights. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Plans start with bodyweight or light dumbbells and short sessions, and only get harder when your last session shows you're ready.

Do I need a gym or a smart scale?

No. Home plans work with a pair of dumbbells or just your bodyweight, and a regular scale is enough to start. A smart scale adds a body-composition trend, which is an estimate, so it's one signal among several.

When does it launch and what will it cost?

Early access opens on iPhone first, with Android after. People on the waitlist get in first, with a free trial when paid plans start.

Muscle and weight loss

Why do people lose muscle when they lose weight?

When you eat less energy than you use, your body draws on fat and also on lean tissue, including muscle. How much depends on things like protein intake, strength training, how fast you lose and your starting point.

How much of the weight lost is usually muscle?

It varies a lot. A widely cited rule of thumb says about a quarter of weight lost by dieting is fat-free mass, and body-scan sub-studies of semaglutide and tirzepatide trials found lean mass made up roughly a quarter to two-fifths. Lean mass includes water and organs as well as muscle.

What is the best way to keep muscle while losing weight?

Eat enough protein, do strength training at least twice a week, and avoid losing weight faster than you can support with training and food. Our guide on losing fat without losing muscle goes through each one.

How will the app know if I'm keeping muscle?

It looks at your weight trend, your strength from session to session, and a body-composition trend from a smart scale if you have one. No single number is perfect, so the weekly check combines them and tells you how confident it is.

Are smart scales accurate for body fat?

Smart scales are good at weight but only estimate body fat, and a single reading can be well off for an individual. Using the same scale under the same conditions and watching the trend is more useful than any one number.

GLP-1 medication

Does Dyadfit work with Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound?

Yes. Dyadfit doesn't depend on which medication you take. It focuses on protein, strength training and a weekly muscle check.

Does Dyadfit give medical advice?

No. Dyadfit is a nutrition and training app. It never tells you what medication to take or how much. Keep your doctor or clinician in the loop about diet and exercise changes.

How much protein should I eat on a GLP-1 medication?

A 2025 joint advisory from US nutrition and obesity societies notes targets of 1.2 to 1.6 g per kg of body weight a day during active weight loss, or roughly 80 to 120 g a day as a practical alternative. Our free calculator works out a range for your body.

What happens when you stop taking a GLP-1 medication?

In trials, many people regained much of the weight after stopping. In the STEP 1 extension, people regained about two-thirds of the weight they had lost within a year of stopping semaglutide. Talk to your prescriber before changing treatment.
